Agra Extension Tour
2 Nights / 3 Days
Trip Highlights
Agra – the timeless jewel of India’s Golden Triangle – is synonymous with the Taj Mahal, the world’s most breathtaking monument of love. Built 1632–1653 by Emperor Shah Jahan for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, this white-marble masterpiece (a UNESCO World Heritage Site and New Seven Wonder) glows pink at dawn, dazzling white at noon, and golden at sunset.
Just 200 km from Delhi, Agra was the glittering capital of the Mughal Empire in the 16th–17th centuries. Beyond the Taj, the colossal red-sandstone Agra Fort (also UNESCO-listed) offers sweeping Yamuna River views and houses exquisite palaces where Shah Jahan spent his final years imprisoned by his son, gazing at the Taj.
Nearby, the perfectly preserved ghost city of Fatehpur Sikri (40 km away, another UNESCO site) showcases Emperor Akbar’s architectural genius in red sandstone. The delicate Itmad-ud-Daulah tomb, often called the “Baby Taj”, is a serene jewel-box of marble inlay work.
Highlights In Focus
