Extension Tour in India

Kaziranga National Park (Assam, Northeast India) is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the planet’s greatest wildlife success stories. Covering ~1,300 sq km along the Brahmaputra River, it hosts the world’s largest population of Greater One-horned Rhinoceros (2,600+ out of ~4,000 globally), plus healthy numbers of Royal Bengal Tiger (~120), Asian Elephant, Wild Water Buffalo, and Swamp Deer.
Its unique floodplain ecosystem features vast stretches of tall elephant grass, wetlands, and semi-evergreen forests, creating perfect habitat for mega-herbivores. Kaziranga holds two-thirds of the world’s remaining Indian rhinos and achieved the rare feat of taking tigers off the local extinction list.
The park is divided into Central (Kohora), Western (Baguri), Eastern (Agoratoli), and Burhapahar ranges, offering jeep and optional elephant-back safaris. It is also a birding paradise with over 500 species, including Bengal Florican, Pallas’s Fish Eagle, and Greater Adjutant.

Species In Focus
Greater One-horned Rhinoceros (highest population on earth), Royal Bengal Tiger, Asian Elephant, Asiatic Water Buffalo, Swamp Deer (Barasingha), Hog Deer, Wild Boar, Hoolock Gibbon, Capped Langur, Pallas’s Fish Eagle, Bengal Florican, Greater Adjutant Stork and over 500 bird species.
